  • A new options screen (Tools -> Brimstone -> Options) where you can set whether or not you want Brimstone to leave Warbook pages in Facebook frames or to reload them full page

Preview: 0.3.1.B1 - Emergency Fix

Tuesday, January 1st, 2008

I believe that I have fixed most of the stuff that was broken by the last Warbook update. Normally, I would do more testing before releasing a new version of Brimstone but I thought you would all appreciate a version that at least works a bit rather than being completely broken.

As such, I am releasing 0.3.1.B1 for public consumption. Please appreciate that this is a quick fix and stuff might still not work. I hope to release 0.3.1 as soon as I happy that everything is working OK.

Warbook update

Tuesday, January 1st, 2008

Well the good news is that there has been a massive Warbook update which is rather nice. The bad news is that it has completely broken Brimstone. I’m working on a fix now but it may be a little while to get Brimstone up and running again.

0.3 with Event Logging!

Monday, December 31st, 2007

Finally, I feel that 0.3 is ready to release. It includes two notable features:

  • Event logging! - Brimstone should now monitor the following events made by you and against you:
    • Attacks
    • Messages
    • Fireballs
    • Land Grabs

There are still some events which aren’t logged properly or at all such as gifts, earthquakes.

  • Automatically removes the Facebook surrounding page from any Brimstone pages giving you back more of your screen

I hope you enjoy this release. I already have plans for 0.4 in the New Year.

Have a good one!

0.2.3 - Quick fix

Saturday, December 8th, 2007

A recent change in Warbook broke Brimstone with regards to some large numbers. Numbers written in the form xxxx K sometimes appear as xxxx k.

0.2.3 now allows for both cases.

0.2.2 Released

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

This is a minor release to tide you over until I have an extended period to work on saving attack/defence logs.

New to 0.2.2:

  • Monitoring of background tabs (if a page loads in a background tab Brimstone will still update)
  • Comma separated numbers (this will hopefully make the numbers more readable)
  • Brimstone will no longer show a defence value for kingdoms you haven’t spied yet

Get it from the usual place. Have fun!

Brimstone 0.2.1 - Hot fix for *nix

Friday, November 30th, 2007

It turned out that in 0.2 there was a permissions bug that meant that on *nix the database file wasn’t created properly. This release fixes that problem.

If you are a Linux/BSD/etc user then you should get this version. If you have already installed 0.2 and are getting the database error then you should do the following:

  • Uninstall 0.2
  • Find your firefox profile directory
  • Remove the folder brimstonedata
  • Install 0.2.1

If you are a Mac OS X user, it is quite possible that you will also be affected by this issue.

If you haven’t installed 0.2 then you don’t have to worry. Just get the lastest version and all should be good.

Brimstone 0.2 - Now with session saving

Wednesday, November 28th, 2007

In this version of Brimstone it will now save any players that you spy or survey. When Brimstone loads it will automatically load any players viewed in the past 24 hours.

Brimstone on Warbook!

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

TJ very generously offered to promote Brimstone in Warbook, which was rather nice of him. So next time you log on to Warbook, you may be ‘lucky’ enough to see my little plug. :D

With the magic of Web 2.0, I’ve created a Facebook page for Brimstone. Check it out here
